The port road, shot inside out
Here's a road from the other side of the water: the Apapa to Oshodi corridor in Lagos, the spine that hauls the port's containers inland. Five probes.
Apapa, the port end, 6.4477 3.3593. A frame exists, dated October 2019. The camera was moving, so the near road is smeared to nothing. What holds still is the edge of it: a low wall of concrete block and corrugated metal, a drainage ditch at its foot, weeds and palms pushed up behind. Past that, a weathered three-storey block with empty window holes, and two people just at the frame line. No vehicles in shot.
Oshodi, 6.5558 3.3375. A frame, October 2019.
Ilasa, 6.4892 3.3367. A frame, July 2024. Mile 2 road, 6.4736 3.3290. April 2024. Both inland, both recent.
Mile 2 estate, 6.4736 3.3226. Nothing. One probe, empty.
The road that carries the country's freight is shot old at the port and new inland. The port end is a picture of late 2019, taken from a moving car. The stretch out through Ilasa and Mile 2 is nearly three years fresher. If you want to see the port road in the middle of the work, in 2026, nobody shot it there.
Same standard as ever: dates kept, imagery stays Google's, not mine to republish.
